Pedras Salgadas Eco-Resort in Portugal

The beauty of Portugal is precious and the natural parks are priceless, so when architects Luís Rebelo de Andrade and Diogo Aguiar agreed to design accommodations at the Pedras Salgadas Eco-Resort they decided to make it all about integration.

These vacation villas not only stand amongst the trees, they intimately interact with the landscape. Modular construction techniques made possible flexible configurations to accommodate the mature growth around each eco-home. Brilliant white interior walls splash the sunlight onto every surface, a huge contrast to the slate tile that covers the exterior (we imagine the tiles look beautiful when it rains).

Simple, minimalist furniture completes the picture. Clean lines put an emphasis on the surroundings – pure white dining sets, streamlined sectionals, solid rugs, geometric sconces. We love it all. The fine hardwoods are ornamentation enough.

This is ecotourism at its finest. The lodgings at the Pedras Salgadas Eco-Resort must be an incredible place to unwind and reconnect.
