White Stage House in Hiroshima by Future Studio

The architects at Future Studio took a unique approach at lighting this minimalist family home in Hiroshima.

A portion of the uppermost floor serves as a terrace – the shape and form contributed to the White Stage House moniker. It really does look like a stage. A huge picture window allows light to flood the home, while an impenetrable balcony wall controls brightness while providing excellent privacy.

The ample sun shines down and hits the curved of the stairwell – the perfect way to provide indirect lighting to the lower levels. Soft, rounded walls wards off shadows and the unique recessed fixtures (a Future Studio design) look just as good turned on as they do while off.

This modern interior is elegant with exceedingly simple staging. Wooden tractor stools and small floor pillows show off the organic curvature of the structure.

We would love to see this charming white interior decked out in additional gentle, natural furnishings like the ones shown. The White Stage House has a lot of potential – what do you think?
