Technology blog from Bangladesh

Ultrabook: display full HD in 2012The ultrabook are a new class of notebooks featuring high performance, light weight and low power consumption; but the models currently available are not sufficient to attract consumers. The main parameter that is evaluated before the purchase is still the price , but in 2012 models will come with better technical characteristics.

The second wave of ultrabook is expected to begin in January at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, where many manufacturers will present their solutions that are combined with those ASUS, HP, Lenovo, Acer and Toshiba. Probably will be shown the first models with Intel 22-nanometer Ivy Bridge , the architecture on which the Santa Clara chipmaker focuses more to increase market share.

From Taiwan comes instead of an indiscretion on the quality of LCD panels . According to Digitimes , Acer and ASUS would work with the AU Optronics and Chimei Innolux to achieve full HD display with a resolution of 1,920 × 1,080 pixels. The first ultrabook should be announced in January and February. Currently, most of the models incorporates a screen resolution of 1,366 × 768 pixels. Only the ASUS Zenbook UX31 uses a panel of 1,600 × 900 pixels.

The cost will still be a key factor to keep the final price below the $ 1,000 (at least for basic versions). That's why some manufacturers have decided to " trick "users, creating an aluminum frame on the outside and plastic on the inside, so the real notebook unibody will remain exclusive to Apple.
