Nantucket Private Residence

The peaceful Nantucket Private Residence has a vibrant, traditional exterior – two stark planters are the only hint at the dazzling white design to be found inside. The modern interior is sleek and refined, light on ornamentation and overflowing with sunshine.

Architect William Blunden worked with HFP Ambuske Architects and the soon-to-be residents, Toby and Anita Cosgrove, every weekend for a year until the design was finished. Interior designer Constanze Von Unruh helped to sculpt the gorgeous white interior but Anita chose many of the paintings and furniture herself. We think she has great taste.

Using dark wood and black detailing, the dining room is a great place to start looking for inspiration. The ring-shaped pendant lamp becomes an ornate detail when unlit because of how well it matches its recessed niche. Those silky leather dining benches are from the Velin banquette series by Holly Hunt, proving that comfort and minimalism can peacefully coexist.

The Nantucket Private Residence is as serene as can be, with solid but simple design that holds plenty of potential for the future.

Which concepts would you borrow? We think those bed systems with integrated nightstands are pretty cool and definitely on our dream home list. We’d love to hear about your fave design elements in the comment section below.
