The speeches end of the world concerned about the anti-cult - PARIS (Reuters) - A public body to fight against sects warns against the apocalyptic prophecies that bloom at the approach of 2012, when the end of the world according to interpretations of the Mayan calendar.
Miviludes (Interministerial Monitoring Mission and the fight against sectarian) advocates greater awareness of government services, greater supervision of small groups inspired by these themes, the setting up of an old internet, and more international cooperation.
"The 2012 vintage of the world announced an end to this particularly 'promising' for all the prophets of doom," writes Miviludes on the occasion of the presentation Wednesday in its annual report 2010.
"It is important to ensure special vigilance with regard to these speeches, even in cases where no acting out does not seem noticeable," she says.
In the background of this caveat, the death of 74 people linked to an apocalyptic movement, the Order of the Solar Temple, from 1994 to 1997, France, Switzerland and Canada.
"There are anxieties, fears climatic, environmental, pandemic with the flu, disease, earthquakes, Tokyo, events that are presented as signs of the end of the world," Fenech told Reuters, President Miviludes.
"We fear that this speech anxiety can attract more and more people, then our role is to prevent, inform and preventing a rights of way on mental people."
