Microsoft has granted authorization for the acquisition of Skype , one of the most popular VoIP services.The announcement was made public on the website of the Federal Trade Commission (FTC), the American authority specialized in antitrust matters.The Redmond company had announced last May its intention to acquire Skype for 8.5 billion dollars , the largest merger in the history of Microsoft and a bet (strategic and financial) in the fields of mobile Internet devices, against competitors such as Google .
