IMF: Lagarde more and more 'closer to nomination - ROMA, 23 JUN - Christine Lagarde presented today at the IMF board his plan for the Fund. The French minister is the favored candidate to succeed Dominique Strauss-Kahn in the general direction, chair for which also runs the central bank governor Agustin Carstens of Mexico. Today Lagarde met with U.S. Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner, who called it''extremely competent candidate.'' The Director General of the IMF will be 'chosen by June 30.
