For months, the negotiations are underway around the end of the term of Anne Lauvergeon at the head of Areva end of June. If the President of the Executive is a candidate to succeed himself, however, the case would be folded.
Anne Lauvergeon replaced
According to information released Thursday by The Tribune, Nicolas Sarkozy took the decision last week not to renew Anne Lauvergeon. And Wednesday, the head of state would have chosen to Oursel Luc, deputy director general, in command of the nuclear group.
Areva declined to comment. Internally, "everyone agrees to display the utmost caution on this issue only in the hands of Nicolas Sarkozy," says the article.
"While the announcement is not made, the lines can still move. The influences are many. But the departure of Anne Lauvergeon been a broad consensus, "says one close to the deal quoted by the Tribune.
Accident in Fukushima
Over the past year, the President announced his intention to appoint a new boss at the head of Areva. But the nuclear disaster in central Japan Fukushima, however, had raised hopes for a third term to Anne Lauvergeon.
"The choice of Oursel Luc, one of four members of the executive of Areva, if confirmed, will have been the result of a compromise. Although he has joined Areva in 2007 and spent most of his career in various companies (Schneider, Sidel, Geodis) after ten years in ministerial offices, he will face nuclear expert. He led the nuclear activity of the group for four years until January 2011 where he was responsible for marketing, and international projects, "says The Tribune.
