The Ehrlich Residence is a Spacious Refuge

The delightful white home you see here is JFAK Architect’s very first eco-centric creation, a truly inspiring piece of innovative architecture known only as the Ehrlich Residence.

Everything that makes this home so spacious and bright also helps to keep it cool – skylights at the top of the tall stairway atrium circulate the air, while a cement floor acts as a natural heat sink. Even the koi pond outside contributes to the cooling effect by sapping heat from the incoming breeze. These features eliminate the need for any mechanical air conditioning system.

FSC-certified Jatoba wood, used on the staircase and throughout the upper levels, provides the visual warmth that such a striking white design needs. Even the office rug comes from a sustainably-minded company, InterfaceFLOR.

If given the chance, would you go to such lengths to create the ultimate eco-friendly home? The Ehrlich Residence is a stunning and successful reminder that living an environmentally conscious lifestyle is a beautiful thing.
