OLS Family House in Germany

The futuristic OLS Family House is white design eye-candy. It features the rounded edges and punch out windows that serve as the hallmark style of J. Mayer H. Architects, whose conceptually driven urban projects make sculptures out of skylines.

Folding volumes and sensual curves really stand out from the gabled roofs of the surrounding Stuttgart suburbs. This dynamic extends to the bright white interior, where organic contours create an incredible sense of motion – each space connected by a captivating staircase, a fascinatingly fluid piece of artwork in its own right.

We were so impressed by the unique interior architecture that we almost didn’t notice those sleek floors. It’s rare to see such large expanses of smooth concrete but our favorite part is the contrast of the darker, rougher concrete on the stairs.

The magic is in the details. Some of the sharp corners were transformed into lightly beveled edges for extra luster. The peripheral walls are paneled, matching the kitchen cabinetry and helping general storage spots blend in seamlessly.

What do you think? The OLS Family House is certainly stunning but we think we’d have a hard time finding a place to hang a painting!
