Wimbledon: Gasquet, Monfils and Benneteau in the second round

As we know, Wimbledon is a land of success for the French.For this 2011 edition, the Frenchies are no exception to the rule by passing a good beginning Monday on the grass in London.Richard Gasquet, Gael Monfils and Julien Benneteau and were imposed before the arrival of rain to 17 h.Only Marc Gicquel bowed, facing the Canadian Raonic (3-6, 6-7, 3-6).Rafael Nadal for his part does the job, against American Michael Russell (6-4, 6-2, 6-2).

Gilles Simon, involved in a Franco-French duel with Edouard Roger-Vasselin, was meanwhile arrested by rain while leading two sets to one.Arnaud Clement suffered the same fate in the first set against Kubot (5-4 to the Poles).

In girls, Pauline Parmentier was easily imposed against Romania Cirstea (6-1, 6-3) and qualified for the second round.Ditto for Venus Williams and Svetlana Kuznetsova.

Richard Gasquet beats Giraldo Santiago: 7-5, 6-3, 7-6
Milos Raonic beating Marc Gicquel : 6-3, 7-6, 6-3
Julien Benneteau beat Ruben Bemelmans: 6-4, 6-2, 3-6, 4-6, 6-1

Pauline Parmentier beat Sorana Cirstea (6-1, 6-3)
