The ambitious Chatswood House is seamless and innovative in every detail. MCK Architects designed this home to embrace a central courtyard, with wide disappearing walls that blur the lines between indoors and out.
Sunshine floods into the kitchen and dining space, not only from the cutaway wall, but also from the large picture windows behind the countertops. The glossy white interior is radiant. Across the way, an office/social space is accessible from a paved path and cantilever slab stairs.
The transparent garage is particularly fascinating. We could see a serious car collector using it as a showcase for their most prized ride, but we can also appreciate its potential flexibility as a multipurpose area too.
Such an open space probably isn’t for everyone but the concept is very cool. Imagine admiring the stars at night, watching the sunrise wash over that pristine white design… The Chatswood House would certain provide a dynamic environment.
